Students are required to complete mandatory Professional
Experience Placement total of least 160 hours of work in a
regulated children’s
education and care service in Australia as detailed in the
Assessment Requirements of units of competency, as a part of this
qualification.
The ability to obtain a Working with Children Check - Working with Children Check & Police Check required for industry work placement.

As such there are no entry requirements for this course, however students are required to undertake the Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment and Pre-Training Review. This will determine a candidate’s suitability and relevance for the course and identification of any support required.
Students who undertake classroom-based or blended training may be eligible for Commonwealth and Victorian Government Funding (Skills First previously known as Victorian Training Guarantee).
